January Currently...Already?

Where did 2014 go? It's that time again, and I'm linking up with Farley for the January Currently.

The hustle and bustle of Christmas is over. Guests have gone home, the hubs is at work, and it's quiet at my house. I'm not sure I can remember the last time I listened to total quiet, but I'm enjoying it and the fact that I have the house to myself for a few hours.

I've managed to clean out a few cabinets in the last few days, get the laundry done and put away some of the Christmas decorations. I keep thinking I should be doing more, but I find myself sitting down frequently and reading, knitting, surfing the web, buying stuff off of TPT and generally not being all that productive. It feels nice.

I came home with one bag of items to work on over break. My students' narrative writing needs to be scored and put in the grade book. They are still sitting in my teacher bag. The bag has not moved from the spot I set it down in on December 19th. I'm starting to feel like a slacker, but I still haven't picked up the bag. Report cards are looming on the horizon (3 weeks), and I know I'll regret not getting it done sooner, but I'm still enjoying some "me" time.

This coming year I plan to keep up with the habit of going to the gym 3 or 4 times a week. It's something I started in November, and I feel so much better just getting some regular exercise. Sure I could stand to lose 5 or 6 pounds, but I'm not really focused on that. I'm just trying to stay healthy and keep moving.

I have several TPT products I've almost finished that just need some final polishing and proofing. They've been sitting in a folder on my computer desktop for sometime now.  What am I waiting for? I'm not sure, but I need to "get on the stick" as the hubs would say and finish them.

I'm also committed this year to taking time out for me. That generally means spending some time reading for pleasure each day. I also like to knit and have two projects I'm not quite done with that I'd like to finish (hmmm..I'm noticing a theme here). Hopefully, I can be better about leaving work at work and enjoying doing things I love at home more this year.

The Sunday Scoop!

Good evening!  I'm linking up with The Teaching Trio for their fun Sunday Scoop Linky Party! I hope everyone is enjoying their winter break!

Now that all the company has departed, I really need to get the Christmas tree down and box up the holiday decorations...then again...there's always the three day weekend later in January to take care of that! I wish I could talk myself into thinking that would actually be okay to do. Part of me would love to just leave them up for awhile, but I know if I don't get them down soon, I dread having to do it at the last minute next weekend. I'd also like to take next weekend to just spend time relaxing so I feel ready for returning to school. I also need to tackle getting the house picked up and writing those lesson plans I didn't get done before winter break started.

I'd also like to finish a scarf that I've been working on and get myself to the gym to work off those extra calories I've been enjoying over the last week. My goal for Christmas was to NOT gain any weight. I almost made it...the scale showed I'm up a pound and a half. Oh well...the desserts were worth it.

Once I get the house chores tackled, I plan to relax and read as much as I can during the next week. I really enjoy reading but find it hard to fit in sometimes during the work week. Does anyone have any good suggestions for a book? I have a Barnes and Noble gift card that needs to be put to good use!

I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their vacation. Head on over to the Teaching Trio to link up with your own Sunday Scoop. Just click on the picture below to check out what other bloggers are up to and link up yourself.

It's that time of year...back to school.

I have teamed up with Educents with some instant downloads to help get your school year off to a great start! It's loaded with great activities like interactive notebooks, literacy, math, science and activities that stretch throughout the year!

Here are the products I have in this great bundle.

https://www.educents.com/#TeacherGoneDigital

The activities in this packet are designed to help students master adding 10 or subtracting 10 with numbers 0-20. Included in this pack are:
1. 32 Number Cards – Cards show numbers 1-20 in a variety of ways (tallies, numerals, dice, place value blocks, dominoes, ten frames and number lines). These cards can be used as task cards, cards for a class game of scoot, or a small group game such as Monster Mash. I like to print these on colored card stock and laminate for durability.
2. Monster Mash Game – Small group game to practice skill
3. Number lines 1-20 to use as a math tool
4. 8 ½ x11 120 poster
5. Small 120 charts to be used as a math tool
6. Task Card recording sheet
7. Scoot Game recording sheet
8. Two different reproducible pages to use as an independent math activity or assessment for adding 10 and subtracting 10 with numbers to 20.

This is a simple and fun writing center or work on writing activity! Simply copy on card stock, laminate and you're done with very little prep involved. This set of month-by-month roll and write mats includes a mat of 6 story starters for each month of the year. Students love it because they can use the mat over and over to write different stories. These can be used as independent practice for writing narratives, expository and opinion pieces as well.

For a limited time you can get these and a whole lot more for $24.99 from Educents which is about 78% off all these great products!  24 products for  literacy, math, and science - resources that will stretch you long into your year.  And over 1200 pages of materials ready for you to use - I know you'll find lots of things that can help you this school year! Back to School Best Seller Linky and a Sale!

I'm not sure where July went. I didn't blog a bit in July. Instead, I spent some much needed time with my family. This year has been a bit stressful for my family,  and I guess I just needed to slow down and reconnect.

August is here and that means Back to School is just around the corner...that means it's time to get back in the swing of things. That being said, I'm usually in back-to-school mode come August and start thinking about resources I'll need to get my year going. Some of you are probably already back or are thinking about your new school year. I'm linking up with the Best Seller Linky to show off some of my best selling items that help me get ready for the year. As a bonus, I've found some other awesome products that will help me (just click on the Best Sellers Linky picture to go find some great products to help you get your year started).

July Currently and Worksheet Wednesday

I'm linking up with Farley at Oh' Boy 4th Grade for the July Currently...is it REALLY July already? Makes me sad that summer is already going by so fast.

I just returned from a very relaxing camping trip with my family. We had a great campsite by a river and enjoyed spending time, relaxing and hiking with the kids and grandkids. I was not ready to come home!

I'm enjoying having some time to finally tackle some much needed projects around the house  like cleaning closets...how in the world did I accumulate so much stuff? It's also nice to have time to putter in the yard and read. It's been awhile since I've read anything just for fun. I decided no professional books until August. July is all about home, family and relaxing.
